Paralympian Jallen meets local faithful ahead of Pyeongchang

<p>DORRANCE TWP. &#8212; Township supervisors this week heard complaints from Richard Smith Sr., who alleges that code violations are occurring at the K-Val mart and service station on Blue Ridge Trail.</p><p>Smith says an advertising sign that flashes red is a nuisance and also contends an 8-foot fence has never been erected as stipulated in township code, which has resulted in debris blowing into his yard.</p><p>Smith, who resides at the intersection of St. Mary&#8217;s Road and Blue Ridge Trail, also charged that a vacuum unit for car carpets and tire-inflating machine are too close to the property line.</p><p>After discussion, the matter was referred to Alan Snelson, township zoning and codes officer, who indicated he would meet with K-Val officials. The business is owned by Karunesh Properties LLC, of Dallas.</p><p>Besides the zoning issue, Snelson also reported to supervisors that he has approved a permit for a timbering project on real estate owned by the Andrew Geist family on Hollow Road.</p><p>Snelson said it is his understanding the project entails selective timbering on over 40 acres.</p><p>In addition, supervisors:</p><p>&#8226; Approved a $250 contribution to the 2018 senior lock-in event at Crestwood High School.</p><p>&#8226; Approved a resolution increasing fees charged by tax collector Beverly Lukashewski to $20 per case for bad checks, etc.</p><p>&#8226; Acknowledged correspondence that the cable TV system in the township is now owned by Atlantic Broadband.</p><p>&#8226; Issued a call for township citizens to serve on an advisory board to oversee the operations at the Pennsy Supply quarry.</p><style>
