<p>HAZLE TWP. &#8212; State Police have charged a man with vehicular homicide and drunken driving as a result of a crash that claimed the life of a 94-year-old woman last year.</p><p>Christopher Charles Ecker, 30, of Hazleton, was operating a vehicle that crashed into another vehicle driven by Richard Palushock, 40, of Hazleton, on Hazle Township Boulevard on June 3, 2017, according to Times Leader media partner FOX56.</p><p>The force of the impact spun Palushock&#8217;s vehicle, and it struck a utility pole.</p><p>A passenger in Palushock&#8217;s vehicle, Rose Marie Lombardo, of Hazleton, had to be extricated. She was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital &#8212; Hazleton, where she died.</p><p>An autopsy by forensic pathologist Dr. Gary Ross revealed Lombardo died from multiple traumatic injuries, according to the Luzerne County Coroner&#8217;s Office.</p><p>Palushock was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest near Allentown for treatment, troopers said.</p><p>Ecker was not injured in the crash.</p><p>Ecker was charged with two counts each of DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI and reckless endangerment, plus one count each of homicide by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, unauthorized use of a vehicle and several traffic violations. The charges were filed with District Judge James Dixon in Hazle Township.</p><p>Ecker has yet to be arraigned on the charges.</p><style>
