Police: Official feared Job Corps student was planning school shooting

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Kimber Martin doesn&#8217;t usually go to see a movie in her pajamas, but she made an exception Saturday morning when she went to Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 to see &#8220;Peter Rabbit.&#8221;</p><p>Dressed in a blue fleece onesie with an elephant head and a tail, the Pittston native was certainly hard to miss. And it wasn&#8217;t her first time wearing night clothes in public.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t normally know people in here, so nobody will recognize me,&#8221; she said while waiting in line to get popcorn.</p><p>Kimber and many others showed up at the East Northampton Street theater in their pajamas to participate in its first ever &#8220;Pajamas and Popcorn&#8221; event.</p><p>Patrons who came dressed in a snuggie, a onesie, or PJs from 10 a.m. to noon paid a discounted price of $5 to see one of five new releases. They included &#8220;Black Panther,&#8221; &#8220;Peter Rabbit,&#8221; &#8220;Greatest Showman,&#8221; &#8220;Jumanji,&#8221; and &#8220;Early Man.&#8221; They also received free popcorn with their ticket.</p><p>&#8220;&#8217;Peter Rabbit&#8217; was a big seller today as well as &#8216;Black Panther,&#8217;&#8221; said Blaze Kopec, general manager of the movie theatre.</p><p>Courtney Allabaugh, of Plymouth, came to see &#8220;Peter Rabbit&#8221; with her younger sister and her boyfriend. She heard about the special deal through Facebook.</p><p>Like Martin, Allabaugh didn&#8217;t feel shy about wearing her pajamas in a public setting having done so once before.</p><p>&#8220;There was this one time I had to wear a Pooh Bear onesie type of thing,&#8221; she said with a laugh.</p><p>Even though watching movies at home has become more popular in recent years due to the rise of the internet and various websites that allow people to download movies on their computer, Kopec thinks there is still a demand for the movie theater experience. </p><p>&#8220;You can attempt to re-create this at home, but you&#8217;ll never get the same image quality, sound quality, or popcorn quality for that matter.&#8221;</p><p>Marie Foose, of Edwardsville, agrees and still gets excited about actually going to the theater. &#8220;I love going out to the movies,&#8221; she said while taking a break from watching &#8220;Jumanji&#8221; to get some more food. &#8220;It&#8217;s something me and my friend do regularly.&#8221;</p><p>Foose confessed that she had never worn her pajamas outside her home.&#8220;It seemed like it&#8217;d be fun,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It feels kind of like when you just get out of bed and go somewhere without changing.&#8221;</p><p>Given the success of &#8220;Pajamas and Popcorn,&#8221; the theater may hold the event again sometime in the future.</p><style>
