Police: Man swallowed drugs during traffic stop

HAZLE TWP. &#8212; State police at Hazleton arrested Nelson Vallejo, 61, on charges he assaulted another man with a knife during a fight at the Fuel On service station on the Can Do Expressway on Sunday.Vallejo was allegedly involved in a fight with another man at about 6:15 p.m. As they were punching one another, Vallejo swung a knife causing a laceration on the other man&#8217;s head, state police said.Vallejo, of Copperas Cove, Texas, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.
