Upper Valley Eye Bank will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. March 1 at Tony&#8217;s Pizzeria, City Line Plaza, Pittston. The meeting will be hosted by the Jenkins Township Lions Club. The Jenkins Lions are requesting Lions bring a can good donation for the Pittston Food Pantry. Please bring collected eye glasses (no cases). All Lions are welcome. The 7 p.m. April 1 meeting will be hosted by the Wilkes-Barre Lions Club at Rodano&#8217;s, 36 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre.Dupont V.F.W. Post 4909, will hold its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 5 at the post home. Items of importance will be discussed and reports given. Nominations of officers will be accepted at the meeting. Commander Mark Roney will preside. The Home Association meeting will follow. Food, refreshments and camaraderie will occur after both meetings. The post&#8217;s annual St. Patrick&#8217;s Day Dinner-Dance will be held on March 17. A dinner buffet will be served from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The bar will be open from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Live music will be provided by Millennium from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Door prizes will be awarded. The post&#8217;s April meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 9 at the post home.West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festival Committee, will meet at 7 p.m. March 5 at the School Building on Luzerne Avenue in West Pittston. Pictures will be taken so members are reminded to wear Cherry Blossom attire, and all committee members must attend. Upcoming events will be discussed as the committee prepares for the festival. The committee will be selling banners for the annual fundraiser. Banners cost $150 for the firs year and $50 for the renewal of a banner. Payment is due by April 1.
