<p>HANOVER TWP. &#8212;Police are warning residents to not fall for the &#8220;Grandparent Scam.&#8221;</p><p>A Hanover Township resident reported being phone scammed out of a large amount of money on Friday.</p><p>Police say that the elderly are usually targeted for this type of phone scam. The caller will typically call a victim and claim to be their grandchild.</p><p>The caller will also say that they are in some sort of emergency. As in the reported case, the caller claimed to be under arrest and in need of bail money. The victim is then requested to express ship cash to an address out of state.</p><p>Police are urging all township residents to remain vigilant of possible phone scams. If anyone believes they may have been a victim of a similar scam, they are advised to contact their local police department.</p><style>
