West Hazleton man held during ‘major drug arrest’; police seize pounds of pot, other drugs

<p>HAZLETON &#8212; A man was shot outside the Hazleton YWCA on Monday night, after a basketball game reportedly turned violent.</p><p>Hazleton Police Chief Jerry Speziale confirmed the shooting took place around 7 p.m. outside the YWCA, located at 75 S. Church St.</p><p>A physical altercation occurred during the basketball game, which eventually led to a shot being fired, authorities say.</p><p>A 27-year-old man was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.</p><p>Speziale said Tuesday morning that no one had been taken into custody yet, and the shooting was still under investigation.</p><style>
