Dallas Township supervisors approve bond to purchase former child care headquarters

<p>Eleven swimmers and four relays from the Wyoming Valley Conference received time-qualifying bids to the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships following their performances at the District 2 meet this weekend. PIAA officials released the 16 time qualifiers per event Sunday for the state championships held March 14-17 at Bucknell University&#8217;s Kinney Natatorium in Lewisburg.</p><p>The swimmers will join those that received automatic qualifiers following Saturday and Monday&#8217;s district championship meet. The District 2-4 regional champion in Class 3A earned their way to states. The top two finishers in Class 2A boys and girls booked a spot in the PIAA field.</p><p>No Class 3A swimmers or relays from District 2 were selected as time qualifiers.</p><p>Wyoming Seminary comprised the largest contingent of at-large qualifiers with six swimmers and a relay in nine races. Kylee Kolbicka, who anchored the medley relay to a tie for a district title, added to her PIAA appearances with qualifying standards in the 100 butterfly and 100 free. Aviah Dahlgren appeared twice on the psych sheet with bids in the 200 free and 500 free.</p><p>They will be joined by April and Tara Kupsky in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, respectively. Paige Jackett makes her first states appearance with a spot in the 200 free field. The Blue Knights&#8217; 200 Free Relay team will also compete in Lewisburg.</p><p>Having already qualified in the 100 back, Yonah Wasik earns an at-large bid in the boys 200 IM.</p><p>Last season&#8217;s three-time state medalist Margaret Walting will look to make a splash next week after punching a ticket in the 50 free. The Royals&#8217; 200 medley and 200 free relays also secured a spot.</p><p>District champions Dallas will include Emma Thomas (500 free) and a boys 200 medley relay to their states roster. Thomas qualified with a 5:20.03 in the 500 free.</p><p>Wyoming Valley Conference winners Tunkhannock will be represented by two boys. A 100 free champion at districts, Alex Bushre will also compete in the 50 free. Davis Tidball joins Bushre in the 100 free.</p><p>Berwick received a qualifier from Sydney Lloyd in the 100 free.</p><p>Wyoming Seminary&#8217;s girls 200 medley relay holds the second-fastest seed time in the field. Holy Redeemer junior Adam Mahler is also the second seed in the 100 butterfly, just two-tenths of a second behind Riverside (Ellwood City)&#8217;s Dean Kralic.
