<p>As we grow up, we remember so many things past and present.</p><p>The best ones could happen either late or early. It all depends.</p><p>Some that I recall are like relics of a bygone era.</p><p>Going to church, especially to attending St. Casmir&#8217;s on the hill in Pittston. St. Casmir&#8217;s still stands, majestic from earth to the sky above. When the church bells were rung they were heavy metallic ones, with a 6-inch diameter rope that you yanked.</p><p>That was the time to get inside each church and shut one&#8217;s mouth.</p><p>One must learn dignity, manners and reverence at such a young age. These traits you kept from youth to adulthood .</p><p>One listened carefully, and prayed while listening to the beautiful organ music.</p><p>Then people chatted outside and walked home with smiles on their faces.</p><p>Life was hard and families were big, but we all hung in there.</p><p>I can&#8217;t recall much pestilence in families. We had our disagreements, but later forgave and resumed that love for each other. Love never changes and memories live on.</p><p><strong>Ronald Voveris</strong></p><p>Yatesville</p><style>
