<p>TAMPA, Fla. &#8212; When Aaron Judge saw Brian Cashman&#8217;s name come up on his phone Wednesday night, he knew something was up.</p><p>And as innocent as it might have been, the former Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders outfielder won&#8217;t be campaigning for Manny Machado or any other players to join the New York Yankees moving forward.</p><p>The two Major League standouts caught up prior to Wednesday&#8217;s game against the Baltimore Orioles when they discussed various topics. But most notably, that Judge said Machado should come to New York when he hits free agency this offseason.</p><p>&#8220;I told him, &#8216;You&#8217;d look pretty good in pinstripes, too,&#8217; &#8221; Judge told reporters on Wednesday, via the New York Daily News.</p><p>But as it turns out, Major League Baseball doesn&#8217;t like those kinds of things &#8212; tampering as its known in both the NBA and NFL &#8212; to take place.</p><p>The league released a statement to the Daily News on Wednesday, stating that &#8220;We have been in contact with the Yankees. They communicated to us that Mr. Judge&#8217;s off the cuff comments were not appropriate and not authorized by the club. They will speak to him to make sure that this does not happen again.&#8221;</p><p>Then Judge got his opportunity to clear the air Thursday morning.</p><p>&#8220;(Brian) Cashman called me briefly. We spoke about it,&#8221; Judge said of Wednesday night&#8217;s 30-second phone call with the Yankees general manager. &#8220;Got a refresher that MLB&#8217;s sensitive to that kind of stuff. That&#8217;s about it.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know about other guys, but it just came up in passing. Now I know. Had a refresher. Learn something new every day.&#8221;</p><p>Cashman wasn&#8217;t even initially aware of the conversation between Judge and Machado. But when he received a phone call from the league asking him to talk with his outfielder, the general manager gladly complied so Judge could get the &#8220;full view of things.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t have any worries with Aaron Judge, and in general almost all of our people,&#8221; Cashman said. &#8220;I think even Major League Baseball recognizes that our players have an added burden than most because they operate in a larger market. So whether it was Clint Frazier trying to cooperate with the discussions and updates daily with his concussion protocols or I think Aaron Judge brings his &#8216;A&#8217; game every day. We can&#8217;t throw a perfect game either. It&#8217;s just as simple as that.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Adams reassigned</strong></p><p>Starting pitcher Chance Adams was reassigned to minor league spring training on Thursday. The move comes just one day after he gave up a pair of two-run home runs in a loss against the Orioles.</p><p>Adams appeared in three games for the Yankees this spring, making a pair of starts, pitching 4.2 innings and registering a 11.57 ERA and 2.57 WHIP.</p><p>&#8220;They&#8217;re guys with a ton of talent and hopefully they can &#8212; whenever they get their chance &#8212; can come up and help us along the way,&#8221; Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray said of Adams and top left-handed prospect Justus Sheffield. &#8220;They have all the talent in the world. It&#8217;s just when they get their opportunity I hope they can excel with it.&#8221;</p><p>The right-hander will likely be the RailRiders&#8217; opening day starter.</p><p><strong>McKinney, Andujar mixing it up</strong></p><p>Outfielder Billy McKinney and third baseman Miguel Andujar stepped outside of their comfort box during batting practice on Thursday.</p><p>Both working out on a side field at George M. Steinbrenner Field, McKinney was taking grounders at first base while Andujar was taking some at second.</p><p>Andujar&#8217;s workout came a day after making his debut at first base during Wednesday&#8217;s game against the Orioles. McKinney spent time playing first during the Arizona Fall League.</p><p><strong>RailRiders announce part of Legends Series</strong></p><p>The RailRiders named the first legends of their six-man 2018 Legend Series.</p><p>Former American League MVP Jose Canseco, former AL MVP Ricky Henderson and and former major league catcher and current YES Network analyst John Flaherty will all be making stops at PNC Field this season.</p><p>Canseco will participate in a pregame home run derby with fans prior to the June 19 tilt against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Fans who purchase either opening day or season tickets in person on Saturday will be eligible to win a drawing for one spot in the contest.</p><p>Henderson will make his appearance on June 30, for a game against the Pawtucket Red Sox. Flaherty is scheduled to appear on Aug. 3, which is a game against the Buffalo Bisons. </p><style>
