The drug war: An opponent we just can’t seem to beat

<p>Going through the list of school massacres available online there are I guess 200 or so. I picked out a couple examples.</p><p>On July 26, 1764, four Indians near the present-day city of Greencastle killed 11 students and one unborn child, wounded two and scalped all. Musket and melee weapons &#8212; such as tomahawks &#8212; were used.</p><p>On May 18, 1927, Andrew P. Kehoe after losing an election in Bath Township, Mich., killed 45 and wounded 58 using bombs, arson and a suicide truck.</p><p>On April 16, 2007, Seung-Hui Cho at Virginia Tech killed 33 and wounded 23 using a Glock 19 pistol and Walther P22 pistol.</p><p>On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza took his mother&#8217;s Bushmaster XM15-E2S and Glock 20SF and killed her then went to Sandy Hook Elementary School, killing 27 and injuring 2.</p><p>Columbine two killers, two shot guns, a handgun and a 9mm carbine, 99 explosives and four knives resulted in 15 killed and 24 injured.</p><p>What I found was that the killers varied greatly and weapons used varied greatly. The constant through all the years from 1764 through today was an unsecured facility almost advertising for a massacre to take place.</p><p>We protected our airports, sports facilities, concert halls and so on. Yet our schools remain unprotected. This is unconscionable.</p><p>If partisans want to go off and argue about gun show loopholes and the like go ahead. As usual nothing will get done. But please start securing our schools.</p><p>I hear some partisans argue that we can&#8217;t turn our school into prisons. </p><p>I agree with Andrew Pollack, whose daughter was killed in the Stoneman Douglas shooting.
