Former Wilkes-Barre General physician files objections to lawsuit

<p>Play ball!</p><p>The boys of summer are back in town even if the weather still has a decidedly winter chill in the air.</p><p>The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the top farm team of the New York Yankees, kick off their 2018 season tonight, and we couldn&#8217;t be happier. (About the return of baseball, not the chilly weather. We&#8217;ve all had enough of winter.)</p><p>It&#8217;s not that we are diehard Yankee fans.</p><p>Truth be told, our group is more partial to the likes of the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and the Bronx Bombers&#8217; crosstown rivals, the New York Mets.</p><p>However, those of us that remember Northeastern Pennsylvania prior to 1989 and the return of professional baseball to the region know just how lucky we are to have a Triple A baseball team call PNC Field home.</p><p>A trip to a professional baseball game prior to 1989 meant a lengthy bus trip, or at least a marathon drive.</p><p>But for nearly 30 years, we&#8217;ve had a team right in our own backyard, and for the price of a movie, a family can take in a evening of baseball. The kids can enjoy a host of activities, while Mom and Dad take advantage of seeing some of the top prospects in all of baseball.</p><p>The smart shopper can take advantage of an abundance of special offers that make a night at the ballpark more than a good deal, such $1 lawn seat Mondays.</p><p>We have a tendency to take some of the things we are lucky to have in Northeastern Pennsylvania for granted.</p><p>Don&#8217;t do that with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.</p><p>Get out to a game or two this season. Enjoy a hot dog and a cold beverage. Take your mitt and try to catch a foul ball. Learn how to keep score.</p><p>Just enjoy a few days at the ballpark, even if you decide to wait for the temperature to go up a few days before you do it.</p><p>And don&#8217;t worry, nobody is going to say a thing if you decide to wear your favorite Mets jersey to the game.</p><p>&#8211; Times Leader</p><style>
