Jenkins man faces assault charges after domestic, scuffle with cops

<p>KINGSTON TWP. &#8212; A Forty Fort man on a self-crusade to reform law enforcement is facing charges he had marijuana bags on him when he was arrested in a tavern on a drug warrant last month.</p><p>Township police allege they found three bags of marijuana and a vaporizer pen in the pockets of Adam Bruce Cottle, 31, when he was arrested at TC Riley&#8217;s Pub &amp; Inn on Carverton Road on March 24. Two bags were labeled &#8220;Gorilla Cakes&#8221; and the third bag was labeled &#8220;Mix Bag Featuring Gorilla Cakes X Double D,&#8221; according to the criminal complaint.</p><p>An off-duty Lehman Township police officer notified Kingston Township police Cottle was at the tavern and was wanted by Lehman Township police on a drug warrant.</p><p>Cottle, a U.S. Air Force veteran, recently has been on a social media rant against law enforcement, targeting police departments who bust pot smokers on possession charges.</p><p><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/697852/rant-on-social-media-leads-to-felony-drug-arrest" target="_blank">In an online conversation with the Times Leader on March 26, Cottle said he has been &#8220;an outspoken advocate for reforming the criminal justice system.&#8221;</a></p><p>Cottle previously posted his displeasure with the West Pittston Police Department, blasting the agency for censoring him from their Facebook page after he wrote a negative review about an unrelated drug arrest.</p><p>Kingston Township police charged Cottle, of Butler Street, with four counts each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with what they found him with on March 24. The charges were filed with District Judge Brian Tupper.</p><p>Lehman Township police charged Cottle with possessing marijuana, a bag of suspected marijuana oil, rolling papers, a grinder and a scale during a traffic stop for a suspicious vehicle in a cemetery during the middle of the night on June 1 of last year.</p><p>He was arraigned on the Lehman Township arrest warrant on March 24 and released two days later after posting $50,000 bail, court records say. </p><style>
