<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre man wanted on charges he crashed into a police cruiser and nearly struck two other police vehicles while fleeing a dispute with an ex-girlfriend in Edwardsville last month was captured by U.S. Marshals.</p><p>Kenneth Hayward Tonic was arrested without incident on North Hancock Street in Wilkes-Barre, according to a news release Friday from U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane.</p><p>Edwardsville police allege Tonic, 28, of Dana Street, crashed into a Larksville cruiser during a pursuit that began at the Hilltop Apartment complex on Roosevelt Street on March 18.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>Kayla Jenkins told police she was out with friends and encountered Tonic, her ex-boyfriend, at Ali Baba Lounge in Wilkes-Barre. Jenkins has a restraining order against Tonic.</p><p>Jenkins left the lounge and arrived home with her boyfriend when she spotted Tonic driving toward her apartment at a high rate of speed. Jenkins quickly entered her apartment as her boyfriend and Tonic fought outside.</p><p>Jenkins&#8217; boyfriend eventually entered the apartment as Tonic threw a charcoal grill through a window.</p><p>Tonic spotted police cruisers from Edwardsville and Larksville responding to the disturbance. He ran to his vehicle and sped away, nearly colliding with two cruisers.</p><p>Tonic continued to drive at a high rate of speed and collided with a Larksville cruiser that blocked a road.</p><p>Tonic slowed down in the area of Williams and Hurbane streets and attempted to jump out. Tonic got stuck between the door of his vehicle and the front push bar of the Larksville cruiser. The officer exited the cruiser and drew a Taser but Tonic managed to escape, running through yards on Broad Street.</p><p>No injuries were reported.</p><p>An arrest warrant was issued for Tonic by District Judge James Haggerty in Kingston on March 18.</p><p>Tonic was arraigned by District Judge Thomas Malloy in Wilkes-Barre on three counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, and one count each of fleeing police, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, driving with a suspended license and criminal mischief. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail.</p><p>Police in Edwardsville, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Williamsport, state police and the Lycoming County Sheriff&#8217;s Department assisted with Tonic&#8217;s arrest.</p><style>
