<p>DORRANCE TWP. &#8212; Supervisors voted unanimously this week to accept the low bid of $59,747 from Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, of Emmaus, for paving work scheduled on St. Mary&#8217;s Road.</p><p>It was stated in bid requests that the project entails double-seal coating, chipping and line painting from Blue Ridge Trail to the intersection of Stairville Road. However, township officials don&#8217;t want the job to commence until work on a natural gas pipeline through the township has been completed.</p><p>Alan Snelsen, codes and zoning officer, said he issued two permits last week for Transco Inc. to move heavy equipment across St. Mary&#8217;s and make cuts in Prospect Road and Country Club Drive to facilitate the installation of steel piping.</p><p>The actual pipeline work is being performed by sub-contractor Michels Corporation of Brownsville, Wisconsin.</p><p>Meanwhile, three companies submitted proposals for the St. Mary&#8217;s paving; AMS&#8217; bid, however, was $8,000 lower than Midland Asphalt Solutions and $18,000 under that of Pocono Spray Coating.</p><p>In another decision, supervisors approved the sale of beer and wine at a Sunoco convenience store near the exit/entrance ramp of Interstate 81. The business is part of the Malwa Ventures LLC chain which has Simrat Awlakh, of New Milford, as one of its principal officers.</p><p>During a public hearing, it was stated Awlakh secured a liquor license at a public sale staged recently at a former restaurant in Buck Township. He submitted the high bid of $66,000.</p><p>In other business:</p><p>&#8226; Supervisors acted to table a decision on the proposed waiver of a $28,100 line of credit secured by the Button family for work at its Blue Ridge Truck Plaza near I-81.</p><p>&#8226; The board decided to seek proposals for the installation of security cameras at a playground and park behind the municipal building following recent incidents of vandalism.</p><p>&#8226; It was stated the May 5 spring cleanup was a success with $1,980 in income generated for the township and $454 for the fire company.</p><p>&#8226; Township Solicitor Donald Karpowich said a resolution intended to expand building inspection services will be ready for action by supervisors June 11.</p><style>
