<p>HANOVER TWP. &#8212; Fred Rosencrans has been preparing for Saturday&#8217;s open house at the Luzerne County 911 center since January, but the fifth-annual event will celebrate traditions that go way back.</p><p>The public is invited to tour the 100 Young St. facility from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., as officials celebrate the facility&#8217;s 20th anniversary.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been kind of crazy trying to get awards together,&#8221; said Rosencrans, the county&#8217;s 911 executive director. &#8220;Some people have been here for 20 years.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been in contact with a lot of local agencies and I&#8217;m expecting a great turnout,&#8221; Rosencrans said.</p><p>Some of the agencies that have been invited and expected to attend are Hanover Township police, fire and EMS. The Luzerne County District Attorney, Sheriffs department and Emergency Management Agency also received invitations.</p><p>The Hazleton City Fire Department will be present and they are bringing their inflatable fire house to educate children on fire safety.</p><p>Weather-permitting, there will be helicopter landings from Commonwealth Health and the Pennsylvania State Police.</p><p>Tours will also be going on throughout the day.</p><p>&#8220;By holding our open house, it&#8217;s a nice way for the public to see our technology,&#8221; Rosencrans said. &#8220;We hope no one ever has to call 911, but with the information we provide maybe the public will have a better understanding of how it works.&#8221;</p><p>The center&#8217;s staff training and education program boasts about their national accreditation through the Association for Public Safety Communications Officials, a distinction that only five other emergency communication centers in Pennsylvania have.</p><p>&#8220;I think this is a great opportunity for our employees to showcase their skills and interact with members of the community,&#8221; Rosencrans said.</p><style>
