<p>WASHINGTON, D.C. &#8212; Pennsylvania&#8217;s U.S. Senators Bob Casey, D-Scranton, and Pat Toomey, R-Lehigh Valley, announced they are accepting applications from persons interested in filling judicial vacancies on the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.</p><p>Toomey said he and Casey have worked to confirm 14 qualified nominees to fill district court vacancies on the federal bench. Only three states &#8212; California, New York, and Texas &#8212; have had more district court vacancies filled during this time.</p><p>Casey and Toomey will use the following process to fill vacancies:</p><p>&#8226; A judicial nomination advisory panel will be established in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.</p><p>&#8226; This panel will screen applicants for judicial vacancies and submit the names of qualified applicants to the two U.S. Senators.</p><p>&#8226; The panel will be made up of 20 members, including two co-chairs. Senators Casey and Toomey will each appoint nine panel members and one co-chair. The co-chairs will be: Neil T. O&#8217;Donnell of O&#8217;Donnell Law Offices and Gerald K. Morrison of Smigel, Anderson &amp; Sacks, LLP.</p><p>&#8226; Applicants will be required to complete and submit an application, which is available online.</p><p>Persons interested in being considered should submit their completed application to both: judicial_nominations@casey.senate.gov and judgeappMDPA@toomey.senate.gov</p><p>The deadline for submitting a completed application is 5 p.m. July 18.</p><style>
