<p>Are you a fan of playwright Anton Chekhov? Pope Francis? Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg?</p><p>Do you like films that make you laugh? Cry? Cheer for the human spirit?</p><p>Can you imagine a 102-year-old father trying to send his 75-year-old son to an old folks&#8217; home?</p><p>If any of this intrigues you, organizers of the Summer Fest at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock invite you to see any or all of 22 independent and foreign movies they&#8217;ll be showing over 21 days.</p><p>You can whet your appetite at noon and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, when the Dietrich will offer free showings of the trailers for all 22 films.</p><p>&#8220;You&#8217;ll see what we saw, what made us choose these movies,&#8221; film booker Ronnie Harvey said, predicting the trailers will make you want to return and watch more films that you expected.</p><p>The three-week Summer Fest will open on July 13 with a gala featuring two &#8220;refreshingly comic&#8221; films, Harvey said. &#8220;Finding Your Feet&#8221; follows a British woman who joins a dancing club, and &#8220;The Seagull&#8221; is based on Chekhov&#8217;s 19th-century play, adapted for the screen by Scranton native Stephen Karam.</p><p>&#8220;Unfortunately, he won&#8217;t be able to join us at the festival,&#8221; Harvey said of Karam. &#8220;He has a conflict.&#8221;</p><p>Other movies promise to transport viewers to the vineyards of Burgundy, the American rodeo circuit and the horrors of the Holocaust.</p><p>&#8220;I just read an article that said people are slowly beginning to forget the Holocaust,&#8221; Harvey said. &#8220;We think it&#8217;s important not to forget.&#8221;</p><p>The theme of the festival is &#8220;bringing the world closer,&#8221; Harvey added. &#8220;We&#8217;re all complex and we&#8217;re different, yet we&#8217;re all the same.&#8221;</p><p>The films include:</p><p><strong>102 Not Out,</strong> PG, in Hindi with English subtitles. A 102-year-old wants to break the record of oldest living man, while his decades-younger son has already resigned himself to dreary old age. Showtimes are 7:15 p.m. July 15, 2:30 p.m. July 20, 2:15 p.m. July 26, 2 p.m. Aug. 1.</p><p><strong>After Auschwitz,</strong> not rated. Jon Kean&#8217;s documentary follows six extraordinary women as they move past tragedy and trauma to life in America. Three siblings reunite to save the family vineyard. Two Jewish boys struggle to escape the Nazi roundup. Jewish survivors of the Nazi regime sell bed linens door-to-door, praising housewives until the ladies find the items irresistible.
