Accused bank robbers waive hearing on home invasion charges

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A woman accused of allowing her husband to rape a girl without reporting it has pleaded guilty.</p><p>Her husband, meanwhile, has a new trial date set at the request of his attorney.</p><p>Christina Solt, 52, and husband Clyde, 58, both of Freeland, appeared before Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough on Tuesday.</p><p>Mrs. Solt pleaded guilty to a single count of endangering the welfare of children. A count of corruption of minors was withdrawn as part of her guilty plea.</p><p>Vough set Mrs. Solt&#8217;s sentencing for Oct. 15.</p><p>Her husband, who is facing charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, rape of an unconscious victim, statutory sexual assault and other related counts will stand trial Sept. 24.</p><p>Mr. Solt was initially scheduled to go to trial Tuesday. But public defender Michael Charles Kostelaba filed a motion requesting more time, which Vough granted.</p><p>An investigation into the Solts first began after Mr. Solt reached out to therapists for help.</p><p>Authorities said he had been sexually assaulting a girl for years, beginning when she was only 8. He was arrested in May 2017.</p><p>Mrs. Solt was charged soon after. Police said she was aware of the abuse, but never reported it.</p><p>She told police she confronted him about the abuse, and he told her it wouldn&#8217;t happen again. She said after another incident, she told her husband to leave their home.</p><p>Court records show Mr. Solt has been in prison since his arrest for lack of $250,000. Mrs. Solt has been out on $50,000 bail since shortly after she was charged.</p><style>
