Pittston Area OKs final $52.7M budget with 3.2 percent tax hike

<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; Demolition work has started on the Kurlancheek Home Furnishings showroom and warehouse at 235 Mundy St., the company announced in a Tuesday press release.</p><p>The company also said it was able to salvage electronic and paper files from the building badly damaged in the June 13 tornado.</p><p>Kurlancheek has set up a temporary office and warehouse with public hours available by appointment at 75 S. Wyoming Ave., Suite 4, Edwardsville. (The former Gateway Cinema.)</p><p>Kurlancheek also had these updates for customers:</p><p>&#8226; Merchandise in the Mundy Street warehouse when the tornado hit has been declared a total loss.</p><p>&#8226; Previously ordered merchandise that was not yet at the warehouse when the tornado hit is being received and delivered.</p><p>&#8226; New orders can be placed immediately.</p><p>Kurlancheek moved to its Mundy Street location in early 2014, and it purchased the building only a few months ago.</p><p>&#8220;Our first priority is to satisfy our customers who have open orders,&#8221; said owner Ronne Kurlancheek. &#8220;We will continue to move forward and come back better than ever.&#8221;</p><style>
