Hanover Township man sentenced in Turkey Hill robbery; blames wife’s death

<p>Rey Navarro laced a two-run home run in the second inning to give Scranton/Wilkes-Barre the lead, and the RailRiders never lost it in a 6-3 victory at Buffalo on Tuesday.</p><p>Navarro drove home four runs and scored another in the victory, which was built by a 13-hit attack and put the RailRiders two games over .500 at 42-40. Ryan McBroom had three hits with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Billy McKinney joined him in going 3-for-5 with two runs scored.</p><p>The Bisons took the lead against the RailRiders starter Luis Cessa in the bottom of the first inning when Anthony Alford singled, stole second and came all the way home when an errant throw to second base was misplayed.</p><p>Navarro changed Scranton/Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s fate.</p><p>With McBroom on base, Navarro lined the first pitch he saw from Jon Harris over the right-field wall for a 2-1 RailRiders lead and the first hit in his 3-for-4 night in the top of the second inning.</p><p>Later in the game, Navarro came through for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre again.</p><p>He scored on L.J. Mazzilli&#8217;s two-out RBI single in the fourth inning, then Bruce Caldwell sent McKinney home with a single in the fourth for a 4-1 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre advantage.</p><p>After Buffalo cut the lead to 4-3 with two runs in the sixth, Navarro ripped a two-run single to right field in the seventh to push Scranton/Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s lead back to three runs and set the final score.</p><p>Cessa won his first decision of the season with the RailRiders, working six innings with three strikeouts. The right-hander retired 10 straight between the second and the end of the fifth.</p><p>J.P. Feyereisen picked up his second hold with two strikeouts in a hitless seventh inning and Raynel Espinal earned his first save with two hitless innings and five strikeouts.</p><p>The RailRiders and Bisons resume the series at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at PNC Field in Moosic, when rehabbing New York Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka will make a Fourth of July start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre against Buffalo southpaw Matt Tracy (0-0). Postgame fireworks will follow.</p><p><strong>Riding the rails</strong></p><p>Prior to the game, the team announced that pitcher Giovanny Gallegos had reported after being optioned by the Yankees. Fellow pitcher Brody Koerner was transferred to Double-A Trenton to make room.</p><style>
