Northwest school board rejects busing changes

<p>SUGAR NOTCH &#8212; A Hanover Township teen who reportedly told borough police &#8220;he was in a hurry&#8221; never made it to his destination.</p><p>Police had Tyeem Henderson&#8217;s Ford Explorer towed when they learned the vehicle was not insured and the license plate belonged to a Pontiac, according to court records.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>Henderson, 18, of Stanton Street, was stopped after he failed to obey a stop sign at New Commerce Boulevard and Hanover Street at about 10:11 p.m. Thursday.</p><p>An officer approached the driver&#8217;s-side door and noticed Henderson was irate, saying &#8220;he was in a hurry.&#8221;</p><p>Police allege the license plate on Henderson&#8217;s Ford was registered to a Pontiac in Hanover Township, had no insurance and displayed a New York inspection sticker.</p><p>When Henderson was told the Ford was going to be towed, the teen approached the officer in an aggressive manner.</p><p>Henderson continued to scream and displayed combative behavior toward the officer. He continued his behavior when he was advised the cost of the tow.</p><p>He refused to leave the area and swung his arms as he approached the officer.</p><p>The officer advised Henderson he was under arrest and started to jerk his arms in an attempt to disrupt the officer from placing handcuffs on his wrists.</p><p>When Henderson arrived at the police department, he told the officer, &#8220;The lights are off, I ain&#8217;t goin&#8217; in.&#8221;</p><p>Henderson was arraigned Friday by District Judge Thomas Malloy in Wilkes-Barre on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and six vehicle and traffic citations. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.</p><p>Court records say Ashley police charged Henderson with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession and several vehicle citations after a traffic stop May 8.</p><style>
