<p><strong>Man sentenced</strong></p><p><strong>for string of thefts</strong></p><p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man who lived in Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton was sentenced this week in Luzerne County Court for a rash of thefts at area businesses in 2015 and 2016.</p><p>Shandell Lamar Moore, 39, who lived on South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, and South Locust Street, Hazleton, was accused of stealing money from an open cash drawer at Family Dollar on Carey Avenue, Hanover Township, on June 16, 2016; smashing a window at Quality Beverage on Route 315, Laflin, and stealing a cash register on June 7, 2016; and stealing a bottle of liquor from a Wine and Spirits store on West Broad Street, Hazleton, on Nov. 2, 2015.</p><p>Judge Michael T. Vough sentenced Moore to 18 to 36 months in state prison on separate counts of theft, and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal mischief, retail theft, possessing drug paraphernalia, and criminal conspiracy. Moore pleaded guilty to the charges in October 2016, court records say.</p><p>He was given credit for 653 days time served and ordered to pay a total of $2,312 in restitution and fines.</p><p><strong>Warrant issued </strong></p><p><strong>for failure to appear </strong></p><p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; An arrest warrant was issued for Nasir Sharif Lawrence, 20, last known address of 49 W. Chestnut St., Wilkes-Barre, when he failed to appear for a court proceeding in Luzerne County Court last week.</p><p>Lawrence was scheduled to appear for a dispositional hearing on charges of tampering with a fire alarm and criminal trespass at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Dec. 21, 2016.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre police allege Lawrence entered the hospital&#8217;s loading dock on West Chestnut Street and pulled a fire alarm. The alarm prompted the city&#8217;s fire department to respond to the hospital, according to a criminal complaint.</p><p>The charges were filed with District Judge Thomas Malloy in Wilkes-Barre and mailed via summons to Lawrence, who failed to appear for a preliminary hearing in Luzerne County Central Court on Jan. 26, court records say.</p><style>
