<p>DANVILLE &#8212; He&#8217;s second only to Donald Trump, and mentioned in the same company as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Apple CEO Tim Cook.</p><p><a href="http://www.modernhealthcare.com/community/100-most-influential/2018/3518912/dr-david-feinberg/" target="_blank">Geisinger Health President and CEO Dr. David T. Feinberg</a> has been named one of 12 industry disruptors who share the No. 2 spot on the Modern Healthcare magazine&#8217;s annual &#8220;Most Influential People in Healthcare&#8221; list.</p><p>Behind President Trump, in the top position, Feinberg shares the second spot on the list with 11 others who are identified collectively as &#8220;disruptors,&#8221; described as a group of health care leaders looking to change the status quo of the health industry.</p><p>In addition to Bezos and Cook, Feinberg&#8217;s fellow No. 2 honorees include Dr. Marc Harrison, president and CEO of Intermountain Health; and Bernard Tyson, chairman and CEO of Kaiser Permanente.</p><p>The list can be found online at <a href="http://www.modernhealthcare.com/community/100-most-influential/2018/" target="_blank">http://www.modernhealthcare.com/community/100-most-influential/2018/</a>.</p><p>Also on the list is <a href="http://www.modernhealthcare.com/community/100-most-influential/2018/3518981/wayne-smith/" target="_blank">Wayne Smith, chairman and CEO of Community Health Systems</a>, parent organization of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and First Hospital in Kingston. He came in at No. 73.</p><p>Now in its 17th year, Modern Healthcare&#8217;s annual &#8220;100 Most Influential People in Healthcare&#8221; list honors and recognizes individuals who have had the most significant impact on the health care industry, as voted on by their peers and the magazine&#8217;s senior editors.</p><p><strong>Feinberg&#8217;s leadership</strong></p><p>Feinberg took the helm at Geisinger in 2015, the same year he was named to the list for the first time.</p><p>This is the fourth time Feinberg has made the list. In addition to this recognition, he recently ranked in the top three of the health care magazine&#8217;s &#8220;Top 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders&#8221; 2018 list and was named one of the &#8220;100 Great leaders in Healthcare&#8221; by Becker&#8217;s Hospital Review, among other national honors.</p><p>Under his leadership, the Danville-based health system has rolled out programs and services to put the focus on precision medicine and patient care.</p><p>In May, Feinberg announced Geisinger would launch a first-of-its-kind clinical DNA screening program that would make exome sequencing a routine part of patient care. Two months later in July, Feinberg rolled up his sleeve and became the first patient to participate in the program.</p><p>Feinberg earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with distinction from the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School. He earned a Master&#8217;s of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.</p><p>Geisinger serves more than 3 million residents throughout 45 counties in central, south-central and northeast Pennsylvania, and also in southern New Jersey at AtlantiCare. The system is comprised of approximately 30,000 employees, including nearly 1,600 employed physicians, 13 hospital campuses, two research centers, and a 583,000-member health plan. The company has an estimated $12.7 billion impact on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey economies.</p><style>
