<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A woman accused of assaulting a Wilkes-Barre police officer during a melee outside the Ali Baba nightclub in March will spend no time in jail.</p><p>Somali Salaam, 27, of Wilkes-Barre, was sentenced by Luzerne County Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. to 18 months probation on charges of aggravated assault and failure to disperse. Salaam pleaded guilty to the charges prior to being sentenced on Thursday.</p><p>City police alleged Salaam kicked and stomped on an officer&#8217;s leg and foot, and used her long fingernails in an attempt to scratch the officer&#8217;s arm on March 31.</p><p>Court records say two officers initially responded to a fight at the nightclub on South Main Street. Additional officers were called to assist at the scene due to the large number of people involved in the melee.</p><p>As officers were instructing people to leave the area, Salaam attempted to spit saliva at an officer.</p><p>Salaam struggled with two officers who arrested her. After she was handcuffed, she told an officer, &#8220;I&#8217;m peeing now you (expletive) b&#8212;&#8212;,&#8221; court records say.</p><p>As Salaam was escorted to a transport vehicle, she kicked the leg of an officer and stomped on the officer&#8217;s foot.</p><p>After she was seated in the vehicle, Salaam opened her legs and attempted to urinate, court records say.</p><p>Police said Salaam refused to identify herself while being processed.</p><p>Two other people were arrested during the fight.</p><p>Kareem Powell, 25, of Rahway, N.J., pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct while charges of public drunkenness and failure to disperse were withdrawn by prosecutors.</p><p>Prosecutors withdrew charges of aggravated assault, failure to disperse, simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness against Dwayne Wright Jr., 24 of Wilkes-Barre.</p><style>
