Parents protest end of bus runs to day care at WVW

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Last week, a Wilkes-Barre man learned he would be spending up to 20 years in prison after admitting he shot a man during a drug deal in Exeter last year.</p><p>Shaquan Rogers-Jordan, 20, known on the streets as &#8220;Nu Nu Cartel,&#8221; pleaded guilty to a count of attempted homicide before Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas in court last week, records show.</p><p>Prosecutors accused him of shooting Austin Naples in the chest last October during a botched drug deal in Exeter.</p><p>Lupas accepted Rogers-Jordan&#8217;s guilty plea, and immediately sentenced him to serve between nine and 20 years in prison. He was given credit for 310 days for time served.</p><p>Other charges, including two counts of aggravated assault and a count each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, were withdrawn by prosecutors.</p><p>According to police, Rogers-Jordan traveled to Naples&#8217; home in Birchwood Estates on Oct. 24. He was accompanied by two other Wilkes-Barre men, Dominick Harvey, 22, and Jordan Hall, 20.</p><p>The three men allegedly went to the home with the intention of ripping off Naples, who reportedly had a lot of marijuana.</p><p>During the transaction, Rogers-Jordan pulled a gun, telling Naples to give him the money and the marijuana.</p><p>Naples tackled Rogers-Jordan, leading to a scuffle that spilled outside, which ended with Naples shot in his chest. The victim suffered significant damage to his lung. After the shooting, police say Rogers-Jordan, Hall and Harvey fled.</p><p>Officers said they identified the three men as suspects after Hall&#8217;s ID card was found at the scene.</p><p>Rogers-Jordan was remanded to a state prison to begin his sentence. Meanwhile, both Harvey and Hall are awaiting trial on robbery charges.</p><style>
