Group aims to rescue, restore Wilkes-Barre’s last trolley

<p>HAZLETON &#8212; After a two-month investigation, police arrested a man Friday for allegedly selling heroin and fentanyl.</p><p>Luis Lara Hernandez, 20, of 609 N. Vine St., was arrested and a search of his residence turned up 710 bags of packaged heroin/fentanyl, $1,500 in cash and a Ruger pistol, authorities report.</p><p>A 17-year-old female &#8220;facilitated the deliveries&#8221; for the suspect, according to a press release by Hazleton City Police Chief Jerry Speziale.</p><p>Lara Hernandez was arraigned by Sugarloaf District Judge Daniel O&#8217;Donnell on three felony counts each of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance. He&#8217;s also accused of possession with the intent to deliver and corruption of minors. </p><p>He was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.</p><p>Police said they are still investigating the pistol found inside the residence and charges for that are likely.</p><p>The 17-year-old, meanwhile, is facing conspiracy and drug-dealing charges, plus counts for criminal use of a communication facility.</p><p>Friday&#8217;s search warrant was served by Hazleton officers and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, consisting of police from West Hazleton and Butler Township. Agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration also assisted.</p><p>&#8220;This is a substantial seizure and should send a clear message,&#8221; said Speziale in the release. &#8220;If you sell drugs in our city, we seek you out and make certain you face the justice system.&#8221;</p><style>
