Dorcas Society of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church plans rummage sale for Oct. 5, 6

<p>The Luzerne County Community College Foundation, Inc. will hold its 26th annual scholarship donor dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Woodlands Inn &amp; Resort.</p><p>Rebecca Brominski &#8216;91, Mountain Top, member, LCCC Foundation Board of Directors and director, LCCC Wilkes-Barre Center, and Catherine O&#8217;Donnell, Esq., Kingston, member, LCCC Board of Trustees, are dinner co-chairs.</p><p>The annual dinner honors scholarship donors and student scholarship recipients. This year&#8217;s event, titled &#8220;Unmasking the Future&#8221; will recognize area philanthropists, businesses, and foundations which have made significant contributions that have helped LCCC to offer new programs, buildings, state-of-the-art equipment, and scholarship endowments.</p><p>This year&#8217;s honorees include Francis S. Carrozza, whose donation established the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center as well as the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences; Joseph A. Paglianite, whose donation established the Joseph A. Paglianite Culinary Institute; Dr. Norman and Roxanne Schulman, who contributed the first naming gift to LCCC and established the Schulman Gallery; Frank and Carolyn Kowalski, who donated funds to create the Kowalski Auditorium and Media Center located at the Joseph A. Paglianite Culinary Institute; Lawrence E. and Sally Cohen, who were the major sponsors of the Benco Dental Clinic at the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center; Jennifer Wheary and Paul Walker, who funded a scholarship endowment for LCCC Shamokin area students and the Goldman Sachs Learning Center at the LCCC Northumberland Center; David and Ann Hawk, who provided funding for a chocolate room within the Joseph A. Paglianite Culinary Institute; the LCCC Alumni Association, which has provided scholarships and major contributions to the College&#8217;s Public Safety Training Institute and the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center; The Tambur Family Foundation, which provided a scholarship endowment and major support for the LCCC Patrick J. Solano Veterans Center; Brooke and Libby Yeager who established an arboretum endowment fund for the LCCC campus; and the Honorable Patrick J. Solano, former trustee, the namesake for the Patrick J. Solano Veterans Center at LCCC.</p><p>The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m.</p><p>Tickets are $125 per person or $1,000 per table of 10. All proceeds support scholarships and veteran students.
