<p>DALLAS TWP. &#8212; The Crestwood and Dallas boys soccer teams met four times last year.</p><p>Twice in the regular season, in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 title game and then again in the District 2 Class 3A Championship. Crestwood won three of the four, including each of the postseason matchups.</p><p>With the way things are going, these two teams could meet again at least one more time.</p><p>That&#8217;s why Tuesday&#8217;s road tilt &#8212; even though the Comets already beat Dallas back in September &#8212; was the game Crestwood head coach David McFarland was &#8220;most afraid of&#8221; on the team&#8217;s schedule.</p><p>But the Comets didn&#8217;t play like a scared team Tuesday night. Especially senior Hubert Herrera, who scored two goals en route to a 3-0 victory over the Mountaineers (9-2-1) as Crestwood (11-0) remained perfect on the season.</p><p>&#8220;Great, awesome win,&#8221; McFarland said. &#8220;This was the game that was on our schedule that we were most afraid of. It turned out to be a great game and good result for us. Dallas played really well against us. They moved the ball well and caused us a lot of trouble.&#8221;</p><p>Herrera could feel the tide shifting early in the second half. The Mountaineers were starting to possess the ball more and gain momentum.</p><p>The Crestwood senior had to do something about it. Sporting a 1-0 lead, Herrera couldn&#8217;t let the Mountaineers get back into the game &#8212; especially in front of a home crowd.</p><p>A little past the halfway mark of the second half, Herrera found himself racing down the right sideline dribbling the ball and in position to put Dallas away for good.</p><p>As Herrera neared the penalty area, Dallas goalkeeper Kyle Greenwood left the safety of his net to make a play on the ball. With Greenwood closing in, Herrera lifted the ball up in the air as the senior goalie looked to make the slide tackle to take a shot.</p><p>The ball found the back of net and put the Comets up 2-0 with 18 minutes and 51 seconds remaining in regulation.</p><p>&#8220;Anytime you see yourself go down another (goal), it&#8217;s really hard to come back and that&#8217;s all in the mental side,&#8221; Herrera said. &#8220;You have to be prepared for that.&#8221;</p><p>Despite the two-goal lead with less than 20 minutes remaining in regulation, the Comets knew they&#8217;d still be tested.</p><p>When Crestwood beat Dallas 4-2 on Sept. 6, the Comets had built up a four-goal lead only to see Dallas score a pair of second-half goals to make things close.</p><p>McFarland didn&#8217;t want history to repeat itself.</p><p>It didn&#8217;t as Justin Sterling put the nail in the Mountaineers&#8217; coffin with 3:22 remaining, giving Crestwood a 3-0 lead as the defense closed the door.</p><p>&#8220;I made sure to remind them (of the first meeting) before the game and to make sure that didn&#8217;t happen again,&#8221; McFarland said. &#8220;When we&#8217;re up 2-0, all it takes with this crowd is one goal and then our backs are against the wall. For those reasons, the guys did a really good job of working hard and trying to get that second and third goal. They didn&#8217;t back down defensively, so that was good.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Wyoming Seminary 9, GAR 0</strong></p><p>The Blue Knights used an explosive first half led by Luke Johns to beat GAR. Johns factored into five of Wyoming Seminary&#8217;s goals by scoring three and registering assists on two others.</p><p><strong>Wyoming Area 7, Hanover Area 0</strong></p><p>The Warriors routed Hanover Area thanks to a big game from Gavin Lahart. Lahart scored two goals and added two assists for Wyoming Area.</p><p><strong>Lake-Lehman 1, Meyers 1</strong></p><p>The Black Knights tied with Meyers in a tough defensive match. Nate Salus scored the lone goal for Lake-Lehman.</p><p>Aiden McFarlane scored in the second half to tie the game and force the tie.</p><p><strong>Lake-Lehman 7, MMI Prep 1</strong></p><p>The Black Knights dominated MMI Prep Monday night thanks to Mike Bulzoni&#8217;s seven-point night which consisted of three goals and an assist.
