Deja vu: Spartans knock Penn State out of Playoff race for second straight year

<p>The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins went into their first intermission trailing by a goal.</p><p>But not for long.</p><p>When the Penguins came out for the second period, they rattled off three goals by three different players and were on their way to a 4-1 victory over Cleveland, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton&#8217;s second straight win in Cleveland.</p><p>Anthony Angello, Jimmy Hayes and Derek Grant all scored goals in an eight-minute span of the second period as the Penguins quickly pulled away for victory.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre/Scranton goalie Anthony Peters allowed the first goal of the game to Cleveland&#8217;s Kevin Stenlund just 7:30 in, then stopped the next 32 shots against him to improve to 3-0-0 as the Penguins&#8217; starter.</p><p>Teddy Blueger added an empty-net goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to close the scoring in the third period.</p><p>Garrett Wilson picked up two assists on the night as the Penguins moved to readied for a return home to Mohegan Sun Arena to battle the Hershey Bears on Wednesday night.</p><div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta><p>Times Leader</p></bylineMeta></div><div class="metaInfo"><shirttailMeta><p>Reach Times Leader sports at 570-829-7143 or on Twitter @TLSports</p></shirttailMeta></div>
