Local residents participate in student leadership project

<p>In honor of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice ending the First World War, a ceremony will be held to re-dedicate the bronze plaque honoring 320 men and women of East End who served during the War at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at East End Towers, 295 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre. Boy Scout Troop 55 of Plains will lead the Pledge of Allegiance ceremony. Rev. Marty Garms from the East End Primitive Methodist Church will say an opening prayer. A short history of the memorial plaque, a reading of the names and a blessing by Father Kevin Mulhern, a native of East End will follow. A tribute of patriotic songs will be performed by the Wyoming Valley Barbershop Chorus. The program will conclude with a military salute by the Wilkes Barre Township American Legion Post 815 followed by light refreshments. Plaque honoring end of World War One will be rededicated
