Four generations of Hetro family gather

<p>DALLAS TWP. &#8211; The Misericordia Players will present a dramatic adaptation of the Charles Dicken&#8217;s novel, &#8220;Nicholas Nickleby,&#8221; on Nov. 8-11 in Lemmond Theater at Walsh Hall.</p><p>Written by prize-winning playwright Tim Kelly, a lifelong Dickens buff who is also the adaptor of the hit comedy, &#8220;M*A*S*H,&#8221; the coming-of-age Victorian tale offers a blend of comedy, mystery and melodrama thanks to a parade of colorful characters. It centers on the life of a young man who must support his mother and sister after his father dies. His quest leads him to a job as a teacher in a school where the humorously wicked and infamous villain Wackford Squeers, who with his horrible wife and daughter, runs the dreadful school with a cane and tablespoons of foul-tasting medicine.</p><p>Performances are at 8 p.m. Nov. 8-10 and a 2 p.m. Nov. 11. Cost is $5 for general admission and $3 for senior citizens, Misericordia students and alumni. Tickets are available at the door and are on sale at the Misericordia Box Office or online at www.misericordia.edu/nickleby.</p><p>The &#8220;Nicholas Nickleby&#8221; cast features Misericordia University students Cordell Gresh, Harveys Lake, as Nicholas Nickleby; Adam Ercolani, Plains, as Ralph Nickleby; Adam Myers, Bear Creek Township, as Smike, and Jacob Schweiger, Barton, New York, as Wackford Squeers.</p><p>Student cast members also include Alec Aversa, Thornhurst; Emily Clark, Hunlock Creek; Gerrica Clouse, Wyalusing; Elizabeth Cote, Douglassville; Breann Hunsinger, Kelayres; Olivia Katulka, West Wyoming; Dawson Kerch, Allentown; Zoe LaPorte, West Pittston; Aiden McAndrew, Scranton; Michaela McQuaig, Mechanicsburg; Samantha Midkiff, Palmerton; Madison Mokychic, Monroe Township; Adam Myers, Bear Creek; Annette Ritzko, Coaldale; Kinsey Robinson, New Bloomfield; Lauren Schuster, Nazareth; Noah Schweiger, Barton, New York; Maddison Stein, Farmingdale, New Jersey; Sarah Taylor, Montgomery; Jessica Vera, Dallas, and Sierra Ward, Barnesville. The cast also includes Nicole Conrad of Dallas, a student at Dallas High School, and Eddie Reynolds of Harding.</p><p>Jeffrey Kelly of Dallas, who serves as manager of cultural and special events and theater director at Misericordia University, is director and technical director for the production.
