On Politics: The bomb’s in the mail, but who licked the stamp?

<p>BUTLER TWP. &#8212; Facing federal charges for allegedly threatening President Donald Trump and other officials, Shawn Christy was arraigned Wednesday on accusations he burglarized a relative&#8217;s house during his three months on the lam.</p><p>Butler Township police say Christy, 27, of McAdoo, forced his way inside a relative&#8217;s residence on Klingers Road in Drums on July 25, stealing three handguns and food. While inside, Christy also allegedly changed his appearance by shaving.</p><p>At the time, Christy was on the run from U.S. Marshals. He was captured Sept. 21 in Mifflin Township, Ohio.</p><p>After the burglary in Butler, federal and state authorities searched southern Luzerne County for about a week. The search was called off when officials believe Christy stole a school van and fled the area.</p><p>That van was found abandoned near Nitro, W.V., on Aug. 2, according to the FBI in Pittsburgh.</p><p>Christy was recently transferred from Ohio to Scranton where he is jailed at the Lackawanna County Prison. He is set to be formally arraigned in federal court in Scranton on Friday.</p><p>A federal grand jury indicted Christy on allegations he threatened Trump, a district attorney and law enforcement in Facebook posts between June 3 and June 12.</p><p>Christy also allegedly ransacked Skitco Iron Works on Route 309 in Hazle Township, not far from his home in McAdoo. </p><p>Christy was arraigned by District Judge Daniel O&#8217;Donnell in Sugarloaf on charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and illegal possession of a firearm related to the heist on Klingers Road on July 25. He was remanded to prison for lack of $100,000 bail.</p><style>
