Correale Stevens to discuss serial killers at WB crime watch

<p>HAZLETON &#8212; City police nabbed a fugitive Friday morning after a brief foot chase.</p><p>At approximately 8:15 a.m., officers received a tip on the possible whereabouts of a fugitive in the area of Church Street (Route 309) between Second and Third streets.</p><p>Patrol units flooded the area and eventually spotted William Whittaker walking in the area, a press release states.</p><p>Whittaker, 27, Hazleton, took off running but was captured by Officer Tom King a few blocks away in the area of First Street and Lee Court.</p><p>Chief Jerry Speziale says Whittaker has an outstanding warrant in Luzerne County for theft charges.</p><p>Whittaker was expected to be transported to the county prison.</p><p>Speziale acknowledged the helpful tip in the release.</p><p>&#8220;The collaboration with the community will continue to aid in making a safer city,&#8221; he stated.</p><p>Whittaker is the second fugitive caught within city limits in the last week.</p><p>Last Thursday, Hazleton officers arrested Luis Steve Rivera, 24, who had been sought by Wyoming Borough Police since April on indecent assault charges involving a person under 16.</p><style>
