<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A former volunteer firefighter for Nanticoke has been found guilty of some of the child-sex crimes he was accused of, but was cleared of some of the others after a trial this week.</p><p>Michael Sansone, 31, of Saylorsburg, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count each of unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.</p><p>However, he was acquitted on a count of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse along with additional charges of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.</p><p>Court records show it took jurors nearly nine full hours Thursday to reach a verdict.</p><p>The former firefighter was arrested in May 2016. Nanticoke police say Sansone abused an 8-year-old female between July 2015 and April 2016.</p><p>Police said the victim told a friend about the incidents, at least one of which was witnessed by the victim&#8217;s sibling. Sansone allegedly tried to get the sibling to stay quiet about the incidents by offering to buy Legos.</p><p>Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough set Sansone&#8217;s sentencing for Jan. 25. Prosecutors made a motion to have Sansone&#8217;s bail revoked &#8212; he&#8217;s been free since shortly after his arrest on $250,000 bail &#8212; but Vough denied the request.</p><style>
