The following are recent Luzerne County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According to the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Also, at the time of the inspection, violations are recorded but are often corrected on site prior to the inspector leaving the establishment.&#8221;The information is taken from the inspection database at <a class="vglnk" href="http://www.eatsafepa.com/" rel="nofollow">www.eatsafepa.com</a>. Violations: Observed a build up of old milk residue on the shelves in the dairy cooler. Observed a build up of flour spillage on the shelves in the sales area. Observed a build up of ice on the ceiling in the one walk in freezer. Observed build up of dust on the fan guards in multiple walk in refrigeration units. Observed a build up of debris on the bottom of multiple refrigeration units in the sales area. Observed a build up of debris on the plastic dividers in the deli area. Observed a build up of dust in the vent areas on chest refrigeration units. A case of severely dented and leaking canned items observed in back stock area and intended for sale in the food facility. Items were removed from sale. Observed a package of flour to torn and leaking in the sales area. 3 packages of flour on shelves in sales observed to be unsealed and opened. Observed peeling paint on shelves in the deli cooler area. Observed 10 small flies around mops in the produce prep area.Texas Roadhouse, 465 Wilkes- Barre Township Blvd, Wilkes-Barre: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed rust forming on the ceiling in the ice machine. Mechanical ware washing equipment had a mineral buildup observed inside. Observed a build up of black residue on the surface around the nozzles on the beverage machines. Observed glass plates being used as scoops in bulk ingredients. Observed scoops stored in food ingredients with the handle in contact with the contents.Observed a build up of food residue on the post can opener blade. Diamond St., Hazleton: Regular inspection, out of compliance. Violations: Moist mold-like build up in the corners of the ware wash sink compartments. No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the rest room area to remind food employees to wash their hands. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Slicer in kitchen observed with old dried lettuce residual on blade guard. Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink in the restroom. 0-15 old rodent pellets observed on floor of the utility closet. 10-20 old rodent pellets on floor and shelving in area of the cook stove in kitchen. Fruit fly-like insects in flight at various locations of the facility. Floor of walk in cooler observed with old food spillage.he Person in Charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.Reach in cooler in retail area mused for storage of deli salami observed with 52F ambient temperature rather than 41F.1 ceiling panel in kitchen is missing exposing fiberglass insulation.Side receiving door located in the receiving area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.Packages of deli salami were held at 59&#176;F, in the reach in cooler in retail area, rather than 41&#176;F or below as required.Chapin&#8217;s Oil Service/ Coffee and Doughnut Shoppe, 920 E. Third St., Nescopeck: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violatios: Toilet rooms do not have a self-closing door. Raw eggs stored above containers of ready to eat foods such as Tuna salad. The eggs were moved to the bottom shelf during this inspection.Antonio&#8217;s Pizza Original LLC, 45 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed a build up of food residue on the edge of the shelves in the walk in cooler.The Morris Family Restaurant, 72 Poplar St., Rte ll, West Nanticoke: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed a build up of black residue on the surface around the nozzles and the back of the ice chute on the beverage machine.Equipment observed in the handwash sink in the back area, indicating uses other than handwashing. Equipment was removed. Discussed using hand wash sink for hand washing only.Gravies and sauces held at 110 &#176;F, in the kitchen area, rather than 135&#176;F or above as required. Foods were within the safe time limit and were reheated to 165*F before placing in hot hold units.Observed a build up of debris on the floor under equipment in the back area.The Bread &amp; Pastry Shoppe, 581-7 Alter St., Hazleton: Opening inspection, in compliance. Violations: Basement door frame located in the basement area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.No metal stem thermometer available to monitor food temperatures.Toilet rooms do not have a self-closing door.Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.Super Kings Buffet, 2298 Wilkes Barre Twp Mktplc, Wilkes-Barre: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed raw eggs stored above RTE foods in the walk in cooler. Meat sandwiches/hot dogs were held at 52-57&#176;F, in the sandwich cooler rather than 41&#176;F or below as required. Sandwich cooler is not able to maintain &lt;41F. Ambient temperature 51F.Nanticoke Education Center, 600 E., Union St., Nanticoke: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed a build up of black residue on the floor drain in the kitchen.Nanticoke Area High School, 427 Kosciuszko St., Nanticoke: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed food residue on the nonfood contact surface on the deli slicer.Observed a build up of food residue in the kettle drain spout.Giant Food Store No. 6081, 70 S. Locust St., Hazleton: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: The receiving door located in the rear of the of the food facility has a gap and the door base/floor juction, and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.Consumer warning labels not provided on in the produce area that some fruits and vegetable may contain a paraffin wax coating. Observed in the self -serve donut display case in the bakery area, with coconut covered Long Johns stored above other donuts, increasing the risk of transfer of allergens to other donuts.Hood Vent with pieces of sealant dangling from seams, above the fryer and the oven in the Deli area.Thomas&#8217; Family Market Foodtown, Five Mountain Mall, US RT 11, Shickshinny: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Post can opener blade had old food residual build up. Working containers in kitchen area, used for storing *chemicals, cleaners* taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical.Lucas Farms Produce Center, SR 239, Shickshinny: Regular inspection, in compliance.Cwiklas Quality Bakery, 623 Main St., Avoca: Regular inspection, in compliance. Violations: Observed 8+ dead cockroaches under shelves and equipment in the basement and work area in back of upstairs retail sales area. PIC cleaned areas during inspection. Prep tables and shelves unit and flat surfaces in bakery area observed to be cluttered. All items not necessary should be removed.Old unused equipment stored in basement/ prep area, should be removed from food facility. Observed a build up of black residue on the edge of the deflector plate. Violations: Observed 1 live mouse under equipment in the back area of the facility. Facility directed to implement a pest control plan immediately.
