<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; It will be at least several days before authorities will rule on the cause of a fire that gutted Valley Diner on Kidder Street on Sunday night.</p><p>The blaze broke out about 10:22 p.m. at the building at 805 Kidder St. that used to house the Lone Star Steakhouse &amp; Saloon.</p><p>Although firefighters appeared to have the fire well under control, flames were still coming out of the top of the structure at several points as crews worked. The roof of the building appeared to be completely destroyed, causing it to collapse, and the interior of the restaurant appeared to sustain heavy damage. The building will likely be taken down. </p><p>Wilkes-Barre Fire Chief Jay Delaney said firefighters had to exit the building when the roof appeared to be failing. He said the situation was &#8220;just too dangerous.&#8221;</p><p>Delaney said no firefighters were injured.</p><p>Delaney said Kidder Street had to be closed to allow firefighters to run hoses to the structure. Delaney said the blaze was brought under control around 2:30 a.m. and firefighters remained on the scene until about 6:30. He said Kidder Street was reopened around 7:30 a.m.</p><p><strong>Opened Jan. 29</strong></p><p>Valley Diner opened Jan. 29 in the spot near the Wyoming Valley Mall.</p><p>The new business was operated by Nabil Nazmt.</p><p>Lone Star closed in January 2015. BV Belk Properties of Charlotte, N.C., had advertised the property as a freestanding and fully equipped restaurant.</p><p>The steakhouse interior was replaced with red and white booths and decor, a nod to the classic American diner style. The hostess stand also housed a cake display with fresh baked goods.</p><p>The Valley Diner was open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with breakfast being served all day.</p><style>
