DALEVILLE &#8212; Sophomore Jessica Dardia gave Delaware Valley a needed jump start early in the first game Tuesday night.Once Dardia&#8217;s jump serve got them going, the Warriors never slowed down until they had finished off their ninth straight District 2 girls volleyball championship in the largest classification with a 25-15, 25-22, 25-14 victory over Wyoming Valley West in the Class 4A championship match at North Pocono High School.Both teams had earlier been eliminated from the District 2-11 subregional and state tournament consideration so they went into Tuesday knowing the match would be their season finale.Dardia repeatedly produced quick points in the first two games with a running start on her powerful and accurate serve. She finished with a match-high 17 service points, including seven aces.&#8220;She&#8217;s usually more consistent as an outside hitter,&#8221; said Delaware Valley coach Bridget Crawford, who turned Dardia into more of a serving specialist in the championship match. &#8220;I knew she&#8217;s been dead-on with her serve.&#8220;All year, that&#8217;s the way it&#8217;s been. She&#8217;s worked very hard on her jump serve.&#8221;The match started 20 minutes late when an adjustment was needed to the make-up of the officiating crew after a no-show.Wyoming Valley West immediately jumped out to a 5-1 advantage, but that wound up being the Spartans&#8217; largest advantage of the night.Working as Delaware Valley&#8217;s second server in the first two games and its first in the final game, Dardia stepped to the line for the first time with the Warriors still trailing, 5-2.She didn&#8217;t give the serve up until she had put her team ahead, 10-5.On five of the eight points, Valley West was unable to return the ball. Spartans coach R.J. Tomascik called timeout at 8-5 and Dardia responded with a serve that could not be returned cleanly, then an ace.Valley West only got as close as three once more in the game, which ended with Dardia serving the final four points, including another ace.&#8220;When we play Del Val, the main thing we know going in as that they are going to serve very strong,&#8221; Tomascik said. &#8220;If you can&#8217;t serve receive and can&#8217;t pass, that&#8217;s the main difference, because you can&#8217;t run an offense, which just holds you back from scoring more points.&#8220;That&#8217;s something that we know is traditionally what they have. We just could not get it where we wanted to.&#8221;The second game had a similar look.Valley West scored the first two points, then Dardia stepped up and produced a 6-2 lead without the Spartans ever getting the ball back over the net. Valley West never led again.The Spartans handled Dardia&#8217;s serves better the rest of the way, but the Warriors (15-4) had three other girls with at least eight service points, allowing them to put together streaks.Hannah Lee had nine points and 11 digs. Elizabeth Bobo eight points and six kills.Brooke Acoveno had a team-high seven kills.Valley West (9-10) was led by Sidney Scarcella with six kills and three digs and Rhena Lauver with seven points, three aces and seven digs.Alliyah Mann added three kills and six points and Tessa Johns had six assists and four points in the loss.CLASS 2A SEMFINALSHoly Redeemer 3, Meyers 0The top-seeded Royals moved a step closer to another district title with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 sweep of the No. 4 Mohawks.Leading the way for Redeemer were Skylar Osenkarski (17 kills, one block), Liv Moore (eight kills, five service points), Abby Lapinski (32 assists, seven service points) and Maddie Lewis (11 service points).Up next for Redeemer is a meeting with No. 2 Dunmore on Thursday at North Pocono in the second match of a doubleheader at North Pocono, which begins at 5 p.m.The Bucks won the first semifinal on Tuesday by sweeping No. 3 Forest City 25-10, 25-14, 25-11.CLASS A SEMIFINALSMMI Prep 3, Susquehanna 1The first match in Thursday&#8217;s championship doubleheader will also feature a Wyoming Valley Conference squad.The third-seeded Preppers knocked off No. 2 Susquehanna to advance to the finals against No. 1 Blue Ridge, which rallied to beat Mountain View 3-2.<div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta>By Tom RobinsonFor Times Leader</bylineMeta></div>
