Penn State Wilkes-Barre students donate to Domestic Violence Service Center

<p>Wyoming Seminary seniors Molly Leahy, of Wilkes-Barre, and Nikolai Stefanov, of Honesdale, received the 2018 Wyoming Seminary Alumni Service Awards during Sem&#8217;s recent Homecoming festivities. The award recognizes exceptional student leadership and service to the campus community.</p><p>Leahy and Stefanov were two of nine seniors nominated for this year&#8217;s alumni award. Nominees also included Sophia Adeghe, of Bloomsburg; Nicolas Bufalino, of Wyoming; Michael Doggett, of Harveys Lake; Bernard Frantz, of Shavertown; Rebecca Hammerman, of Mechanicsburg; Pearl Miller of Parsippany, N.J.; and Mia Raineri, of Shavertown.</p><p>Members of the Wyoming Seminary Alumni Council interviewed the nine students and determined the two 2018 award recipients.</p><p>Leahy, daughter of Amy and Patrick Leahy, of Wilkes-Barre, serves as student government president and also serves in leadership roles in Dance Marathon, Sem Dance Company, Blue Crew, Blue Key and the Library Advisory Board, as well as the Art Department representative. A Levi Sprague Fellow, she also has competed on the Mock Trial team and attended a Round Square International Conference.</p><p>Stefanov, son of Michael Stefanov, of Honesdale, is the founder of the Sem Math Center, coaches the Lower School Mathcounts team and is active in Science Olympiad, Mock Trial, Science Research Group, Math Club and Student Government. He also serves as the Math Department student representative and tutors both Upper and Lower School students in math. He has been a member of the varsity ice hockey team since his freshman year. Stefanov also teaches GED classes at the Wayne County jail and leads the Wayne County GED tutoring service.</p><style>
