Chrin shows Pa. driver’s license in response to Cartwright claims on residency

<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; A store severely damaged by June&#8217;s tornado that rocked the Arena Hub Plaza will be up and running just in time for the holidays.</p><p>Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods will reopen its doors Monday, Nov. 19, at 9 a.m., the store announced in a press release.</p><p>&#8220;The store will open again for the community, just in time for the holiday shopping season,&#8221; the release said.</p><p>Robert Tamburro, trustee/general manager of TFP Limited, owner of the Arena Hub Plaza, is glad to see Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods return to full operation.</p><p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s a result of the hard work between Dick&#8217;s, TFP and Belfor Property Restoration,&#8221; said Tamburro. &#8220;I also can&#8217;t thank Rycon Construction Inc. and Wilkes-Barre Township enough for reviewing the plans and specs quickly so we could get the proper permits to get the rebuild underway.&#8221;</p><p>Belfor, of Allentown, was tabbed to help rebuild the stores damaged by the twister. Pittsburgh-based Rycon was contracted to help rebuild the interior of Dick&#8217;s.</p><p>&#8220;We are blessed, looking back on what happened that night,&#8221; Tamburro said. &#8220;It was quite an inconvenience but things could have been a lot worse.&#8221;</p><p>In spite of the severe weather and flying debris, there were no serious injuries.</p><p>Tamburro, meanwhile, believes customers will like the improvements to the plaza.</p><p>&#8220;With the stores that have come back, new and loyal customers will see new updates that have been made,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I think people will receive the changes we made pretty well. I&#8217;m just looking forward to putting this all behind us.&#8221;</p><p>On June 13, the National Weather Service determined an EF-2 tornado with 130 mph winds caused major structural damage to the store along with a bevy of other businesses. Pieces of the sporting-goods store&#8217;s sign were found miles away in Bear Creek Township.</p><p>Aside from Dick&#8217;s, the stores in the Arena Hub Plaza forced to close due to tornado damage were: Barnes &amp; Noble, TJ Maxx, Staples, Carter&#8217;s, OshKosh, PetSmart, the Eddie Bauer Outlet and Men&#8217;s Wearhouse.</p><p>On TJ Maxx&#8217;s website, it says the store in the Arena Hub Plaza will reopen on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 8 a.m.</p><p>PetSmart will remain closed as crews are still renovating the business. Barnes &amp; Noble is still operating out of a temporary site in the nearby East End Centre.</p><style>
