<p>LUZERNE &#8212; A Swoyersville man identified himself as &#8220;Jesus Christ&#8221; when police confronted him about stealing a vehicle Monday morning, according to a police report.</p><p>Shane Michael Hernandez, 25, of Oliver Street, was identified when his fingerprints were electronically scanned, police said.</p><p>Police arrested Hernandez after he allegedly stole a 2012 Honda that was idling in a driveway of a residence on Chapel Street just before 8 a.m.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint:</p><p>John Psolka told police he started his Honda to warm up and when he returned, he saw a man in the driver&#8217;s seat backing out of his driveway. Psolka ran after his vehicle as Hernandez exited the Honda near Miller Street.</p><p>Psolka told police Hernandez began saying, &#8220;He is Jesus Christ&#8221; and claimed Psolka was going to die in his sleep tonight. Hernandez also told Psolka he &#8220;is the world&#8217;s problem.&#8221;</p><p>Police encountered Hernandez on Miller Street where he claimed &#8220;he was the real Jesus Christ.&#8221;</p><p>Hernandez refused commands to get on the ground claiming his legs were frozen. An officer deployed a Taser that was ineffective on Hernandez.</p><p>Hernandez fought with officers before he was handcuffed.</p><p>Another witness, Michael Scholl, told police Hernandez attempted to force open a door at a residence on Charles Street.</p><p>Hernandez was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, resisting arrest and criminal trespass. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail. </p><style>
