A son’s eulogy: ‘His was the brightest of a thousand points of light’

<p>ASHLEY &#8212; A woman was arraigned Tuesday for allegedly trying to elude police in November while they served a warrant for her arrest.</p><p>Bethann Ritter, 26, of Ashley, is accused of breaking into a neighbor&#8217;s home while attempting to flee from officers Nov. 8.</p><p>According to a press release by the Ashley Borough Police Department:</p><p>At approximately 3 p.m., Chief of Police David Fedorczyk and K-9 officers responded to the second floor of a 135 S. Main St. apartment building to serve a warrant out of Monroe County to Ritter for failure to appear in court.</p><p>After Ritter opened her door and saw police, she ran back inside her apartment and crawled out her bedroom window onto a porch roof.</p><p>Ritter then forced her way into the bedroom of a neighbor. She ran through the neighbor&#8217;s living room and out the front door.</p><p>A K-9 named &#8220;Mick&#8221; was able to pick up Ritter&#8217;s scent and track her. She was found near 173. S. Main St., where police took her into custody.</p><p>She was taken to the county lockup before being transferred to the Monroe County Jail.</p><p>Ritter was released Tuesday and subsequently turned over to Ashley police.</p><p>She was arraigned by District Judge Joseph A. Halesey on charges of flight to avoid apprehension, criminal trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.</p><p>Ritter was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 cash bail.</p><style>
