WB Police issue alerton strongarm robberiesWILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police have issued an alert about a string of strongarm robberies in the North and East End sections over the last few months.From September through this week, there have been at least a dozen robberies in those neighborhoods.&#8220;Victims are usually on foot and are approached by one or more B/M (black male) subjects and assaulted and robbed,&#8221; police wrote in a press release. &#8220;The suspects are usually on foot also and approach the victim from behind. In the East End robberies, a weapon was mentioned or displayed.&#8221;In the North End cases &#8212; covering streets such as North Main, North Washington and Chestnut plus North Pennsylvania Avenue &#8212; it seems that older male victims are being targeted.The suspects usually go through a victim&#8217;s pockets, taking wallets and phones.In the East End &#8212; in the areas of Pearl, Laurel, Kidder and Chapel streets &#8212; a group of two or three suspects armed with a handgun is targeting male pedestrians.Anyone who has any information on these cases is asked to call Detective Matt Stash at 570-208-0911.Two allegedly stolefood from SheetzWILKES-BARRE &#8212; Two people are accused of stealing $15 in food items from the Sheetz store on Route 309 late Wednesday.An employee said she saw the pair shoplifting and wrote down the license plate number of their vehicle when they fled.Charles Evans, 48, and Amy Evans, 45, both of Wilkes-Barre, are now facing retail theft charges, officers report.Wanted man nabbedin Hanover TownshipHANOVER TWP. &#8212; A township man with an active warrant out of Philadelphia was nabbed Wednesday during a traffic stop on the Sans Souci Parkway, according to authorities.Eugene Grisson, 22, was a passenger in the vehicle that police pulled over about 6:20 p.m. A records check revealed he was wanted for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a report states.Grisson was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Luzerne County lockup to await extradition.<style>
