<p>Luzerne County Community College will offer a Class A Commercial Driver&#8217;s License (CDL) training program this winter.</p><p>The college&#8217;s CDL training program, which is offered in partnership with CC Training, LLC, includes a combination of classroom, driving range and on-road training. The four-week training program is designed to enable students to take and pass the CDL license in their state of residence.</p><p>Students will receive training in the specialized skills and knowledge needed to prepare for employment as an entry-level tractor trailer driver. Topics of instruction include shifting/operating transmissions, backing up and docking, speed and space management, vehicle communications, extreme driving conditions, lane controls and turning, vehicle maintenance, and pre and post-trip inspections. Assistance with CDL license testing and job placement also is provided to students.</p><p>Two weekday sections of the program will be held from Monday, Jan. 28 through Friday, Feb. 22 and from Monday, March 11 through Friday, April 5. A weekend section will be held from Saturday, Jan. 12 through Sunday, March 10.</p><p>For more information, or to make an appointment to register, call the college&#8217;s Public Safety Training Institute at 570-740-0431.</p><style>
