<p>DALLAS &#8211; Fidelity Bank has been open next to the Dallas Shopping Center since November, but that didn&#8217;t stop the new branch from hosting a grand opening celebration that offered character visits, free car seat checks and the chance to win some alluring prizes Sunday.</p><p>As attendees enjoyed the varying entertainment that included a live ice-sculpting demonstration, Fidelity Bank President Daniel Santaniello said the decision to open up a location in Dallas was natural.</p><p>&#8220;We think the Back Mountain is a great extension of our network of branches that we have here,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s a logical extension of our footprint as we continue to move south through the valley and make our long-term commitment to Northeastern Pennsylvania.&#8221;</p><p>The Fidelity branch will offer a full array of services, including checking and savings accounts, wealth management, money markets, mortgage and business lending and more &#8211; all inside a bright and modern eco-friendly building.</p><p>Those who visit during the grand opening celebration will also have the chance to walk away with some fun prizes, including a grand prize of a new BMW X5 from Wyoming Valley Motors.</p><p>Some area organizations will also have an opportunity to win big from Fidelity in the form of a $15,000 grant.</p><p>&#8220;What we&#8217;ve asked all of the nonprofits in the Back Mountain to do is to submit a proposal for this grant,&#8221; said Fidelity Vice President Joann Marsilli explaining organizations should talk about how the money would be used and how it would make an impact for the betterment of the community at large.</p><p>Outside, parents were learning safety tips from the Dallas Borough Police Department as they performed free car seat checks at the event. After performing a check on two cars, patrolman Merrit Nash said the free checks help ensure children are as safe as possible when traveling.</p><p>Some common mistakes Nash has seen is the desire to switch from a rear to front-facing car seat too soon. Another tip he mentions is to make sure the latch system belts are tight enough so the seat is adhered properly to the vehicle.</p><p>&#8220;If you have a heavy coat, just take that off before you put them in the car seat. That allows space so you can&#8217;t tighten the shoulder and waist straps tight enough,&#8221; Nash explained, saying that the excess space causes too much mobility.</p><p>Nash added that if you missed out on the check, don&#8217;t worry. Residents are able to schedule an appointment for car seat safety checks at several local and state police locations, including Dallas Borough.</p><style>
