<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Students in the Creative And Performing Arts Academy have been polishing work for a big showcase Thursday, but weather has messed up Wilkes-Barre Area School District&#8217;s schedule enough to force a postponement to next Wednesday, Jan. 30.</p><p>Teacher Joelle DeLuca, who last week showed off the work students were doing ahead of what had been a showcase planned for Jan. 24, said Wednesday that the delay to Jan. 30 is &#8220;due to this crazy weather.&#8221;</p><p>The showcase includes student art in a wide range of media on display outside the GAR auditorium, with a two-act offering of the performing arts inside. One act will be dance and theatre, the other choral and instrumental performances.</p><p>CAPAA was launched at the start of the school year at GAR but open to students in all three district high schools. In fact, it has welcomed students from other districts as long as an arrangement can be worked out with that district.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre Area redid some rooms at GAR, most of them near the auditorium, with a plan to eventually mingle the different classes in a single work like the showcase, with hopes of integrating lessons. For example, those studying art could work on sets for a performance involving those in the chorus and instrumental rooms.</p><p>Barring any more &#8220;crazy weather,&#8221; the showcase will go on at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 in the school auditorium.</p><style>
