Threats of war crimes charges

<b>First Posted:</b> 12/20/2012<br><br>SCRANTON - A man suspected in armed jewelry store robberies in the Wyoming Valley more than four years ago was captured in New York City, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. 

U.S. Attorney Peter Smith said Huby Ramkissoon, 37, of New York City, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Scranton with the robberies at Dunay Jewelry on Hazle Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, and Steve Hydock Diamonds on Wyoming Avenue, Kingston. 

Dunay Jewelers was robbed on May 14, 2008, and Steve Hydock Diamonds was robbed on May 5, 2008. 

Ramkissoon was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday. 

Jason Soto, 23, no known address, was sentenced in May 2009 to seven to 14 years in state prison for his role in the robbery at Dunay Jewelry, according to Luzerne County Court records. 

Jerry Smith, 34, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was sentenced in federal court, Scranton, in June 2010 to 121 months in prison for his roles in the two robberies.
