Your view: Don’t leave taxpayers on hook for environmental cleanup

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Next week, local restaurant and bar owners will have a new place to get their supplies.</p><p>Restaurant Depot will open at 650 Scott St. in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, Jan. 30.</p><p>The 58,000 square-foot facility will give restaurant owners a convenient place to purchase food, beverages, equipment and supplies.</p><p>In a press release, branch manager Amy Vallely said the store has created 38 local jobs. She is looking forward to showing local businesses &#8220;how much they can save when they shop with us.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;We are so excited to join the community here in Wilkes-Barre,&#8221; Vallely said in the release.</p><p>The store, which started construction last summer, is a &#8220;cash and carry&#8221; operation. That means customers have no minimum order requirement.</p><p>Customers will be allowed to inspect anything at the Restaurant Depot for quality before purchase, but the store offers an &#8220;Always Fresh&#8221; guarantee.</p><p>Starting next Wednesday, Restaurant Depot will be open seven days a week. Any business or nonprofit can join the store&#8217;s membership program for free. </p><style>
