Hazleton man arraignedon child-assault chargesHAZLETON &#8212; A Hazleton man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he choked a 6-year-old boy in November.City police charged Jose Bonilla, 29, of North Sherman Court, with strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. Bonilla was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Luzerne County Central Court and jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $5,000 bail.According to a criminal complaint:A 6-year-old boy told city police he was inside his residence on North Sherman Court with his sister, brother and Bonilla. The boy became upset and cried when his would not let him watch television.Bonilla was watching a movie and became upset with the boy for crying. Bonilla took the boy into a bathroom and choked him, lifting the boy off the floor.Police: Two fled taxiwithout paying fareHANOVER TWP. &#8212; A driver for Burgit&#8217;s City Taxi reported to township police last Friday two customers fled the taxi without paying a fare when they arrived on Willow Street.Two cited after fightHANOVER TWP. &#8212; Township police say they cited Dante Davis, of Hanover Township, and Sean Lockley-Davis, of Philadelphia, with disorderly conduct after a physical altercation during a party on Boland Avenue on Jan. 12.Man charged with assaulting womanWILKES-BARRE &#8212; Tyon Kentrell Thomas, of Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned recently on charges he strangled a woman during a domestic dispute in November.According to a criminal complaint:Alsyla Lombardo reported she was arguing with her live-in boyfriend, Thomas, inside their residence on Conyngham Avenue on Nov. 7. During the argument, Lombardo said Thomas followed her outside the rear door where he struck her head and choked her.Thomas was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of strangulation, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.Police: Man slammeddoor on girl in domesticWILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police arrested Nicolas Thomas Diblasi, 41, on charges he slammed a door that struck the daughter of his girlfriend during a domestic dispute Monday.According to the criminal complaint:Kristen Nallon told police her boyfriend, Diblasi, was intoxicated and verbally abusive to her and her daughter. She claimed Diblasi cornered them in a bathroom of their South Sherman Street residence.As Nallon&#8217;s daughter attempted to leave, Diblasi slammed the door that struck the girl&#8217;s arm.Diblasi was found hiding in the basement.He was arraigned Monday by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on a single count of simple assault. He was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.Estranged husbandallegedly stole moneyASHLEY &#8212; Borough police charged Karim Wajid Twyman, 47, of Oliver Street, Parsons, with burglarizing the residence of his estranged wife and stealing cash earlier this month.According to a criminal complaint:Jolene Twyman reported to police Jan. 5 she arrived home and noticed $275 was missing from her residence on Frederick Street. After searching the residence, she learned her daughter gave a house key to Karim Twyman.Jolene Twyman told police Karim Twyman has not lived with her for more than two years and was not permitted to be at the residence.Police said evidence was gathered from a surveillance camera from a neighbor&#8217;s residence.Karim Twyman was arraigned Friday by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft. He was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.Luzerne man charged with rummaging through vehiclesPLAINS TWP. &#8212; Township police arrested Anthony Dwayne Day, 52, of Luzerne, on charges he was rummaging through vehicles early Jan. 20.Police said they investigated a suspicious person going through vehicles on Kyra Way just before 1 a.m. Day was arrested a short distance away, police said.Day was arraigned by District Judge Joseph D. Spagnuolo Jr. in Plains Township on 10 counts each of loitering and prowling at night and criminal attempt to commit theft. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail.Police accuse man of assaulting sisterWILKES-BARRE &#8212; Kevin Michael Dawson, 20, of Brown Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned last weekend on charges he strangled his sister during an argument.According to a criminal complaint:Teshia Morningstar told police she was arguing with Dawson because he struck her dog. Dawson became verbally abusive toward Morningstar and followed her to the second floor of her residence where she claimed he threw a glass of soda in her face.Morningstar claimed Dawson strangled her with one hand and struck her body with his other hand.Dawson was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of simple assault, strangulation and harassment. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.Cops: Woman uses drill to scare attacking manWILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police arrested Dwayne Harrison, 36, after he allegedly swung a baseball bat at a 15-year-old boy during a domestic dispute with the boy&#8217;s mother Friday.According to the criminal complaint:Police responded to 72 S. Hancock St. after Harrison banged on a door.Harrison reported his girlfriend, Shantee Orr, pulled a gun and struck him in the head with the firearm while forcing him out of the residence.But Orr told police Harrison became intoxicated and got into a confrontation with a friend&#8217;s husband. Orr denied she has a firearm but used a hand drill to scare Harrison out of the home.Once Orr&#8217;s friends left, she claimed Harrison shoved her and grabbed her hair, ripping out a braid.Orr then ran upstairs with her children where her 15-year-old son got in between them. Harrison swung the bat, missing the teen boy and striking the wall, the complaint says.Harrison was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.Hazleton man charged with stealing second vehicleHAZLETON &#8212; A Hazleton man jailed since his arrest for stealing a vehicle Dec. 31 was arraigned Wednesday on charges he stole a second vehicle.City police allege Milton Galarza-Rodriguez Jr., 44, of West Mine Street, stole a 2008 Ford Escape from a residence in the 900 block of North Vine Street on Dec. 30. The vehicle was idling as the female driver was dropping off a child at a residence, police said.Galarza-Rodriguez was caught when police pursued him as he drove a Saturn Vue that was stolen from East Second Street on Dec. 31, authorities report.A Fork key later found in Galarza-Rodriguez&#8217;s pocket belonged to the stolen Ford Escape, which was recovered on East Third Street, police noted.Galarza-Rodriguez was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was returned to the county correctional facility for lack of $5,000 bail.Galarza-Rodriguez has been jailed for lack of $50,000 bail related to the alleged theft of the Saturn, court records state.<style>
