<p>HAZLETON &#8212; An 11-year-old boy is under investigation after city police and fire personnel responded to a small fire at the rear of a home at Second and Seybert streets just after noon Saturday.</p><p>According to a press release by Hazleton Chief of Police Jerry Speziale:</p><p>A resident said she believed her 11-year-old son set a cardboard box on fire, which produced enough heat to melt siding on the home.</p><p>The mother and boy were transported to Hazleton Police headquarters for interviews. </p><p>A State Police Fire Marshal was called to the scene and determined the fire was deliberate in nature.</p><p>The Luzerne County District Attorney&#8217;s office and Children &amp; Youth Services were also notified about the incident.</p><p>The investigation is still ongoing to determine if the youth intentionally set the fire and possibly others. Police are also trying to locate anyone who might have seen what exactly happened.</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not too concerned with pressing charges at this time,&#8221; Speziale said. &#8220;We need to find out what the root of the problem is, if the child has an infatuation with fire or a mental health crisis. We have to be concerned not only for him and his family&#8217;s safety but for the city.&#8221;</p><p>The fire investigation was just part of a busy day for Hazleton officers.</p><p>About 30 minutes after this call, they found a dead man in a vehicle only a few blocks away on Seybert.</p><p>And a few hours before the Seybert incidents, they arrested a fugitive who was found unresponsive in a vehicle near Grant Street.</p><style>
